J. Matthew Kelly
J. Matthew Kelly was raised in Central Florida. “Matt” attended Florida State University where he double majored in Finance and Real Estate. While at Florida State University, Matt joined the Phi Kappa Tau fraternity and acted as the fraternity’s Vice President of Scholarship.
After graduating from Florida State Matt received his Master of Business Administration from the University of Tampa. Matt then went on to attend Barry University School of Law in Orlando, Florida.
While at Barry University School of Law, Matt was invited to join the Barry Law Review. Matt assisted other law students with legal writing and research skills as a Note & Comment Editor for the Barry Law Review. Matt was also invited to join the Moot Court Honors Board where he competed in national advocacy competitions. Matt’s success in Moot Court earned him the appointment as “Chief Justice” of the Barry University School of Law’s Moot Court team where he acted as the chief executive officer of the organization.
Matt graduated Magna Cum Laude and was in the top 4% of students in his graduating class. Matt was awarded a total of six “Book Awards” during his law school career, a recognition given in each class for the highest overall grade achieved by a student that term.
Following his graduation from Barry, Matt joined Snure & Ponall in 2014 as an attorney. Matt practiced in the areas criminal appeals and criminal defense. During his time with Snure & Ponall.
Matt joined Saunders Law Group in 2015 as a litigation attorney. While at Saunders Law Group, Matt handled matters in various areas of civil litigation.
In 2017, Matt joined Clark, Campbell, Lancaster, and Munson where he practices in the area of civil litigation.
Matt is a member of the Wilson American Inn of Court, the Lakeland Bar Association, and the Polk County Trial Lawyers Association. Matt is a member of the Florida Bar and admitted to practice in the Federal Middle District of Florida and the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals.
Matt is proud to call Lakeland, Florida his home, where he lives with his wife, Katie, and dog, Gracie.
